| Title: | LI: NASSAU COLISEUM: CHINESE YOUTH HOCKEY
|
| Description: | Charles Wang and the New York Islanders sponsored two youth teams from China to come to America to play in the Ottawa International Youth Hockey Tournament over the New Year.
The Harbin Red Stars and the Qiqihar Snow Leopards are now visiting the U.S. They will be playing exhibition games against local youth teams, the Long Island Gulls, on Jan 4th.
UPDATE: The Islanders did not really plan for hordes of people, just the families of the Gulls. So while the Nassau Coliseum is open, you need to say you are there for the exhibition game of the Chinese youth team. Please realize that all of the things that are usually available will not be open. The building is basically closed except for this game.
Both games are free and are at the Nassau Coliseum.

UPDATE: The two Chinese teams will be on the ice with the Islanders and Panthers for the start of Jan 4 NHL game at 7PM when they will sing the Chinese National Anthem. They will play against each other during the two intermissions. Ticket info is available at the Islanders web site. Students can get rush tickets at half price on the day of the game at the Coliseum box office. |
